5 Ways to Treat Canker Sores at Home


Canker sores are ulcers that appear on the gums, tongue, and more commonly on the inside of the lips and cheeks. They are caused by injury, allergies, infection, and sometimes, even
stress.

Although this is not something to be afraid of, they can be such a pain. No matter what the cause of your canker sores, you want to get rid of them as fast as possible. Thankfully, there are home remedies that can give you pain relief, while healing your canker sores:

1. Coconut Oil
You can use your hands or a cotton swab dabbed with coconut oil. Place the oil to the sore. As much as possible, try to get a clump of coconut oil there. If it doesn’t stick, you can a tablespoon of coconut oil with half a teaspoon of beeswax, which will thicken the oil.



2. Honey
You need just a small amount of raw honey (must be organic). First, rinse your mouth with warm water and then apply raw honey to the sore. Do this two to three times every day.

3. Aloe Vera
Take the gel from aloe vera and add it into water. Use the solution as mouthwash and make sure that you target the sores. Do this thrice daily to quicken the healing process.

4. Salt Water
In a glass of warm water, add a pinch of salt and let it dissolve for a few minutes. Then, rinse your mouth with the solution at least three times a day. Do this daily until the!sores are gone.

5. Yogurt
Pick plain yogurt that contains live cultures or you can make your own . This is probably the easiest method of treating your canker sores because all you have to do is eat the yogurt. You will need just one tablespoon (or you can finish it all if you want), but do this three times every day. You can!even combine yogurt and honey for quicker results.

There are gels and other products that you can buy to get relief from canker sores. But you don’t really need them because the choices above are quite effective in reducing the pain and treating the sores.
